Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying near a popular California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Recordings shared on the internet capture the helicopter starting to spin above Huntington Beach then descending near the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck between palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three people on the road were hurt. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Authorities said the chopper was connected to an annual “Cars and Copters” charity gathering planned for the next day.
